Extract from Rules: The League have decided that due to the fading light at beginning and end of the season, all MDL league games this season will be contested over 18 ends. In the event of the Greenkeeper, or in his absence the two Captains, deciding that play cannot continue due to poor conditions then the game result will stand if a minimum of 45 end have been played, otherwise the game is declared void and will have to be replayed at a later date.

June 4th - Brixham v Marldon 'A'
Kevin, Ian, Bob T and Alan R tried hard but couldn't find any consistency tonight, went 1-6 down but then scored a 4 to close the gap and held it at 2 until 14th end when opposition won 3 ends in a row for a 7 shot lead. Marldon managed to claw back one shot but lost 12-18.
Gordon P, Alan B, Craig and Ollie started well and built up a 5 shot lead in 7 ends and a six on the 8th end gave them a 13-2 lead. Marldon continued to dominate the game to win 26-9
Logan, Les H, Graham and Terry started fairly evenly being just 9-8 up after 7 ends but slightly increased their lead by the end to win 18-15.
Mick L, Martin C, Richard and Wes had built up a 9-1 lead but opposition repied by winning 4 of next 5 ends to level the score. Marldon's reply was to take 7 shots in next three ends and Marldon then held on to win 17-14.

May 28th - Chudleigh v Marldon 'A'
John Gibbons, Ian, Bob T and Alan R were in a close, low scoring game but Chudleigh won six ends in a row, by one shot each end to hold 7-4 lead, which they increased to 10-5 with 5 ends left. Marldon picked up singles on next 4 ends and went into last end 9-10 down. Although Marldon held shot at one point on last end, Chudleigh held their nerve to win 12-9.
Mick L, Martin C, Richard and Wes had built up an narrow 8-5 lead by end 9 before dropping a 4 to find themselves 1 shot down. athough Marldon then equalised, Chudleigh had the better finish and Marldon lost 12-18.
Dave M, Alan B, Craig and Ollie built up a six shot lead in 7 ends but then dropped a 6 to be level again, Marldon had the better of the second part of game and helped by a 5 on 17th end won 23-16.
Logan, Les H, Graham and Terry picked up a 6 on the 6th end to take a 10-4 lead and scored on all but three of the remaining ends for a comfortable 21-8 win.

May 14th - Marldon 'A' v Bovey Tracey
A cold night with outbreaks of rain.
John Gibbons, Kevin, Bob T and Alan R had a fairly even game, winning ends then losing ends but managed to build up a 12 -7 lead by the ninth end. Bovey narrowed the gap to 4 shots before Marldon won 4 of the last 5 ends for a 20-11 win.
Colin C, Alan B, Craig and Ollie found themselves 1-8 behind after 5 ends but a 6 on the next end brought them back to within a point. Marldon then won the next five ends to take a 17-8 lead, Marldon were easily the better team in the latter stages and won 26-11.
Dave M, Les H, Graham and Martin R were in a low scoring game but were outscoring the Bovey team from the start and built up a 10-4 lead by end 12. The last 5 ends were fairly even and Marldon won 13-8
Mick L, Martin C, Richard and Wes scored 9 before Bovey scored, but Bovey then replied with 10 shots in next 5 ends for a one shot lead. Marldon took back control from that point, scoring on 7 of the 8 remaining ends for a 23-11 win.

May 7th - Torquay 'B' v Marldon 'A'
Richard M, Dave M, Bob T and Alan R got off to a good start, taking a 9 -0 lead after 4 ends. Torquay recoved with 5 shots on next 4 ends but a 3 and a 2 kept Marldon 10 shots ahead. Marldon retained the 10 shot lead to win 22-12.
Colin C, Alan B, Craig and Ollie had a closer start but had a 5 shot lead at 7 ends. Torquay recovered to level the scores at 9 all and briefly took a two shot lead. A 5 on 14th end restored Marldon's lead but Torquay responded to level the scores again on 14th end. Marldon won 3 of the 4 remaining ends to win 18-15.
Logan, Les H, Graham and Martin R were also in a close game and despite gaining a 10-7 lead after 12 ends, Torquay recovered well and Marldon were beaten 15 - 12.
Mick L, Martin C, Peter C and Wes fell slightly behind early in the game. The game was then nip and tuck with Marldon recovering to hold a one shot lead on ends 10, 13 and 16, Torquay took two singles on the last two ends to win 16-15.

June 8th - Newton Abbot 'B' v Marldon B
A very close game tonight, but winning 2 rinks each Marldon just outscored Neton Abbot by three shots to win the game overall.

June 2nd - Marldon B v Newton Abbot 'C'
Adam, Dion, Steve and Len won 6 of the first 7 ends for an 11-1 lead and after dropping a shot on the 8th end won 10 ends in a row for a convincing 32-2 win.
Dave M, Dick, Les and Terry got off to a good start to be 6 up after 3 ends, but then fell behind as opponents won 5 of the next 6 ends to go 10-7 in front. Marldon recovered with a 5 on end 12 and then won 6 of the remaining 7 ends for a 25-12 win.
Gordon P, Ray W, Kevin and Shaun were in a close battle and after being level at 6 ends fell two shots behind. They were still two shots behind going into last end, but good bowls saw them claim a two to tie the game at 15 all.
John M, Bryan Howard C and Ed were 4 down after 3 ends but won next three ends for a 9-4 lead. Marldon then out scored the opposition to go 20-9 up before the opponents scored 4 and 6 to close the score to 20-19. Marldon won the last 2 ends for a 24-19 win.

May 26th - Totnes v Marldon B
Adam, Howard, Dion, and Len kept game close for a while but opposition gradually built up a 5 shot lead by end 11. Marldon did their best to close the gap but lost by 2 shots, 15-17
Dave M, Tony, Shaun and Terry got off to a good start to be 9 up after 3 ends, from then on, good game management kept Marldon well in front and they won 20-9
Gordon P, Ray W, Howard C and Richard M were missing their regular skip tonight and were 10 shots down after just five ends. Next few ends were shared, to be 4-14 at 11 ends, the opposition then scored a 3 and a 4 to open the gap to 17 shots. Marldon lost 5-29.
John M, Bryan and Les C were disadvantaged from the start when Gordon S had to withdraw very late before the game. They only managed to score 4 singles and lost 4-24, and then got 25% deduction for a final score of 3-24.

May 12th - Kings BC v Marldon
Adam, Dion, Steve and Len struggled to win an end and only won two of the first ten to be 4-15 down, Kings continued to dominate and Marldon lost 6-29.
Dave M, Howard and Terry were disadvantaged from the start after Tony had to pull out due to an injury sustained on the way to the game. Although the first half of game was close with score at 8-9 after 10 ends, Kings dominated the second part of game to win 28-12, Marldon then lost 25% of their score due to the missing player.
Gordon P, Ray W, Richard M and Ed found themselves in a closely fought game, getting a 10-7 advantage before Kings recovered to go 13-10 in front at 13 ends. Marldon then won the last 5 ends for an 18-13 win and two hard earned points.
John M, Bryan, Gordon S and Shaun steadily slipped behind from the start and lost 10-22.
