can therefore lag behind the match reports shown below.
Extract from Rules: The League have decided that due to the fading light at beginning and end of the season, all MDL league games this season will be contested over 18 ends. In the event of the Greenkeeper, or in his absence the two Captains, deciding that play cannot continue due to poor conditions then the game result will stand if a minimum of 45 end have been played, otherwise the game is declared void and will have to be replayed at a later date.
May 14th - Marldon 'A' v Bovey Tracey
A cold night with outbreaks of rain.
John Gibbons, Kevin, Bob T and Alan R had a fairly even game, winning ends then losing ends but managed to build up a 12 -7 lead by the ninth end. Bovey narrowed the gap to 4 shots before Marldon won 4 of the last 5 ends for a 20-11 win.
Colin C, Alan B, Craig and Ollie found themselves 1-8 behind after 5 ends but a 6 on the next end brought them back to within a point. Marldon then won the next five ends to take a 17-8 lead, Marldon were easily the better team in the latter stages and won 26-11.
Dave M, Les H, Graham and Martin R were in a low scoring game but were outscoring the Bovey team from the start and built up a 10-4 lead by end 12. The last 5 ends were fairly even and Marldon won 13-8
Mick L, Martin C, Richard and Wes scored 9 before Bovey scored, but Bovey then replied with 10 shots in next 5 ends for a one shot lead. Marldon took back control from that point, scoring on 7 of the 8 remaining ends for a 23-11 win.

May 7th - Torquay 'B' v Marldon 'A'
Richard M, Dave M, Bob T and Alan R got off to a good start, taking a 9 -0 lead after 4 ends. Torquay recoved with 5 shots on next 4 ends but a 3 and a 2 kept Marldon 10 shots ahead. Marldon retained the 10 shot lead to win 22-12.
Colin C, Alan B, Craig and Ollie had a closer start but had a 5 shot lead at 7 ends. Torquay recovered to level the scores at 9 all and briefly took a two shot lead. A 5 on 14th end restored Marldon's lead but Torquay responded to level the scores again on 14th end. Marldon won 3 of the 4 remaining ends to win 18-15.
Logan, Les H, Graham and Martin R were also in a close game and despite gaining a 10-7 lead after 12 ends, Torquay recovered well and Marldon were beaten 15 - 12.
Mick L, Martin C, Peter C and Wes fell slightly behind early in the game. The game was then nip and tuck with Marldon recovering to hold a one shot lead on ends 10, 13 and 16, Torquay took two singles on the last two ends to win 16-15.

May 12th - Kings BC v Marldon
Adam, Dion, Steve and Len struggled to win an end and only won two of the first ten to be 4-15 down, Kings continued to dominate and Marldon lost 6-29.
Dave M, Howard and Terry were disadvantaged from the start after Tony had to pull out due to an injury sustained on the way to the game. Although the first half of game was close with score at 8-9 after 10 ends, Kings dominated the second part of game to win 28-12, Marldon then lost 25% of their score due to the missing player.
Gordon P, Ray W, Richard M and Ed found themselves in a closely fought game, getting a 10-7 advantage before Kings recovered to go 13-10 in front at 13 ends. Marldon then won the last 5 ends for an 18-13 win and two hard earned points.
John M, Bryan, Gordon S and Shaun steadily slipped behind from the start and lost 10-22.
Final Score: Kings 'B' 92 - Marldon 'B' 43 (3 shots deducted)
