The return leg of the game against TCBC at Marldon, where we were able to win on two of our four rinks,
narrowly losing overall by 9 shots.

although Marldon could not make up the deficit and lost 11-19.

Marldon played their first game of season at home against Newton Abbot on May 10th.
Unfortunately Newton were on their best form and we only managed a win on one Rink.
Well done Martin Rolfe, skipping on a rink with Shaun O'Leary, Colin Cradock and John Gibbons and
getting a 22-15 win. Graham Walton's Rink put up a good fight, but Newton Abbot had the stronger finish
on this rink. The other two rinks tried hard but were well beaten.

June 9th Paignton 'B' v Marldon 'B'.
In very poor wet weather Marldon went to Paignton. Les Clarke, Soul Cryer, Mike Thomas and Bary Bailey
got off to a good start and held onto a narrow lead until the 12th end, when they were 10-8 up. A three
from the opponents on the 13th end was matched by a three from Marldon on the 14th, but the Paignton team
then scored on 6 of the last seven ends for a 22-14 Paignton win. This was Soul's first game, we hope he
plays in many more.
There was a similar story on Bryan Salters rink, playing with Craig Ayres (also playing his first game)
Graham Parker and Barry Hodges, they led until the 14th end 15-12, but the opponents then scored 1, 6, 5,
and four more singles before Marldon finished the game with a 3, losing 18-26.
Peter Route, Dave Thompson,
Terry Grant and Dennis Quincey, were outplayed by their opponents, losing 14-28, whilst Terry Bowles with
John Morgan, Carlo Bragagnolo and Martin Comber put up a good fight before losing by three shots, 17-20.
Final Score Marldon 63 Paignton 98.
League Points Paignton 'B' 14 Marldon 0.
Marldon 'B' team in action for their first game of season on May 26th, unfortunately found the Totnes 'A'
team to be better on the night and only won on one rink, Terry Bowles, with John Morgan, John Gilbert
and Martin Comber won by 10 shots. Not enough to win the match due to results on the other rinks.
Highlight of the night for Bryan Salter with Barry Hodges, Graham Parker and Howard Burchell was a 'Hotshot'
on the 9th end to bring them back into the game, but even that wasn't enough and they eventually lost by three
shots.
League Points Marldon 2 Totnes 12.
